Solar Training Program with Greening Youth Foundation Africa

In partnership with Greening Youth Foundation Africa, we have delivered multiple cohorts of the Solar Technician Training Program since 2022. This immersive initiative provides aspiring entrepreneurs and youth with cutting-edge expertise in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems design, installation, and maintenance.

Through a blend of theory, practical workshops, and on-site simulations, participants gain the tools to thrive in Nigeria's burgeoning renewable energy sector.

Program Objective

To rapidly train and certify cohorts of participants in the installation, maintenance, and repair of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Impact & Reach

Multiple cohorts have been successfully empowered across diverse communities in Nigeria. Graduates are positioned to launch their own solar installation businesses or gain immediate employment in the burgeoning renewable energy sector, directly addressing energy poverty.

MacTay's Role

Curriculum design, training logistics, technical instruction delivery, and post-program support (mentorship and job linkage services).

Women in Technology (WIT) Training Programme

MacTay's Women in Technology (WIT) initiative was designed specifically to open up green tech opportunities for women, a group often underrepresented in technical fields. Through an intensive learning journey, participants developed core solar technology skills, workplace readiness and the confidence to compete for roles or build ventures in the clean energy space.

Program Objective

To provide technical competence and leadership training specifically to women, enabling them to acquire market-relevant technology skills in the solar PV value chain, and across the technology sector.

Success Stories

The program achieved huge success by creating a highly skilled cohort of women who are now technically qualified to compete in the male-dominated energy and technology industries.

Long-Term Impact

Fostering economic independence and increasing female participation in entrepreneurship, serving as a powerful model for inclusive workforce development in Nigeria.

Lagos State Specialized ICT Training Programme

In partnership with the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, MacTay delivered a crucial 4-months Specialized Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capacity-building initiative aimed at future-proofing youth employment through digital literacy.

Program Objective

To empower 200 selected Lagos Youth with in-demand technological competencies, specifically focusing on Data Science and Full Stack Web Development. Participants earned internationally recognized certifications as Information Technology Specialists and Adobe Certified Professionals.

Skill Transformation

The intensive training sessions moved participants from foundational understanding to job-ready proficiency, equipping them with the tools needed to secure high-paying roles in the global digital economy.
